As West Point graduates, Ryan and Jacob planned their wedding from afar. We were lucky to be their local Raleigh wedding planners to help support across timezones! They are both employed as helicopter pilots. Because of that, it was such a pleasure supporting them as they balanced their demanding careers with wedding planning. Meanwhile, Ryan had a vision for a trendy, colorful wedding over Labor Day Weekend, and we had so much fun helping bring their celebration to life.
The weather was perfect for a North Carolina wedding in the summer.
A Colorful Celebration at Donovan Manor
Ryan and Jacob said “I do” at Donovan Manor, and the estate set the perfect backdrop for their vision. Bright peach, pink, green, and yellow florals filled the space with color. As a result, every corner of the celebration felt fresh, fun, and true to who they are.
Two Outfit Changes Worth Celebrating
Ryan wore a strapless gown for the ceremony, then switched into a sequin dress for the reception. That kind of detail is exactly why we love wedding day styling, it gives couples room to celebrate in more than one way. For his part, Jacob wore his West Point uniform, a meaningful nod to where their story began.
The Dance Floor Was the Best Part
Of course, no celebration is complete without a great party. DJ Marty Nightengale kept the dance floor packed all night, and it truly was the best part of the day.
