As Raleigh wedding planners with over 10 years of experience in the industry, we know a thing or two about getting married in the Triangle. Raleigh is a hotbed for wedding venues with plenty of options including luxury resorts, country clubs, historic estates, and more. This is a guide to some of our favorite wedding venues in Raleigh (and those worth knowing right outside of Raleigh!)
If you made us vote for a few of our wedding venues in the Raleigh area… here’s what we’d say:

Heights House is a restored 1858 mansion in the Historic Boylan Heights neighborhood. As a nine-room boutique hotel, it is the most adorable place for you and your wedding party to stay all weekend. The architecture and interior design is honestly jaw dropping, and your photographer will have so much fun getting shots of the hidden gems around the property.
308 S Boylan Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27603
Capacity: Up to 150 guests
Pricing: Starts around $14,000
What to know: Outside caterers allowed; in-house bar required. You must have a tent as this is a primarily outdoor wedding venue.

The Angus Barn Pavilion is on a lake inside William B. Umstead State Park and is convenient to the airport. The iconic steakhouse runs your catering, bar, linens, and other rentals so all you have to focus on are the design and details. If you’re a true Raleigh meat-lover, this is the best wedding steak you’ll ever have.
9401 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27617
Capacity: 70 to 400+ guests
Pricing: Reception from $5,000, ceremony from $750; couples typically spend ~$36,000 with the venue.
What to know: Fully in-house and all-inclusive: catering, bar, linens, and dishware.

Donovan Manor sits on 15 acres in Fuquay-Varina, with a ballroom, historic home, and ceremony rose garden. Both catering and bar are in-house through Donovan’s Dish, so a big chunk of your vendor decisions are made before you even sign the contract. It’s a great option if you want an estate feel with a lot of things already included. The staff there is great, and it is a very popular new venue. One of our favorite things about this venue is the luxurious bridal suite – it covers the entire top floor of the house!
5733 Hilltop Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC
Capacity: Up to 250 seated
Pricing: $9,000-$15,000 for a weekend rental
What to know: If you want your wedding at Donovan Manor, you should know that in-house catering and bar are required. This venue is new and very popular so be sure to book it quickly!

The Bradford is a European, Provençal-style estate with gardens, a ballroom, and a terrace across 16 acres. It’s one of the closer estate venues to Cary and southwest Raleigh, so it’s worth a look if you love the European look but don’t want a long drive. This venue is very popular amongst North Carolina wedding planners because it is so fun to design events here!
523 Pea Ridge Road, New Hill, NC
Capacity: 151-200, up to 250
Pricing: $8,000-$15,000, depending on date and season
What to know: Closed, preferred caterer list with in-house bar services.

Britton Manor markets itself as near Raleigh, but it’s really about an hour and half minutes east, closer to Kinston than the Triangle. BUT, it is well worth the drive and worth exploring. It’s a genuine English estate, with a historic manor house, a glasshouse, and formal gardens that are hard to find anywhere closer to home. If a European garden wedding is the priority and your guest list doesn’t mind the drive, it’s worth the trip.
3320 Paul’s Path Road, La Grange, NC 28551
Capacity: Up to 150; intimate weddings 50 or fewer
Pricing: $3,800 weekday off-season up to $35,000 for all-inclusive intimate packages
What to know: You can have up to 20 stay on-site at the house, but all the events need to occur outside. Currently, there are limited indoor event options – so you may want to plan for a tent! The large property makes this a great venue for South Asian and Indian Weddings.

The Umstead is just minutes from the Raleigh Airport, with wooded, lakefront grounds and a spa on site. The venue rental fee itself runs lower than you’d expect. What actually drives the cost is a food and beverage minimum that starts around $20,000, so plan your budget around that number instead of the base rental. But don’t worry, the food is well worth the investment led by a James Beard-nominated executive chef. Even better, your guests will be well taken care of with the 5-star on-site accommodations.
100 Woodland Pond Drive, Cary, NC
Capacity: 151-200 guests
Pricing: Venue rental is low; couples typically spend ~$30,000, driven by a food and beverage minimum starting at $20,000
What to know: Fully in-house catering, bar, dishware, glassware, AV and more.

Market Hall sits right inside Raleigh’s historic City Market, surrounded by exposed brick, market lights, and historic cobblestone streets. You get a lot wen you book here. The space, dishes, glassware, tables, chairs, linens and other rentals come included in the fee, so you’re set up for success without having to worry about so many little things. It’s a great pick if you want a full-service, low-decision wedding day in historic downtown Raleigh.
215 Wolfe Street, Raleigh, NC 27601
Capacity: 251-300 guests
Pricing: Venue fee $6,000-$12,000, plus a food and beverage minimum of $12,000-$30,000
What to know: Fully in-house catering, bar, furniture, and linens. Walkable to Moore square and other popular Raleigh spots.

The Historic Wakefield Barn is an old dairy farm with a not-too-rustic barn on 14 acres in Wake Forest. For animal loves, they have horses often grazing in the fields on the property. The high ceilings and natural light in the grand hall make for some of the prettiest photos. And it is a large enough property that you can have indoor and outdoor options.
12617 Old Falls of Neuse Road, Wake Forest, NC
Capacity: 201-250 seated, up to 325 standing
Pricing: Starts at $9,500
What to know: If you’re planning a wedding at the Historic Wakefield barn, know that they have a closed, preferred caterer list and in-house bar with all glassware provided.

The Merrimon-Wynne House is a downtown Raleigh historic home style venue located just blocks from the State Capitol. When you book the venue, you are able to host inside the main house, the carriage house, and all the lawns on the property. Therefore, you have plenty of options and can always pivot your rain plans. It’s one of the most established wedding venues in Raleigh, so if you have your eye on this one make sure you act quickly!
500 N Blount Street, Raleigh, NC 27604
Capacity: 201-250 guests
Pricing: $9,000-$15,000
What to know: Closed, preferred caterer list. You’ll choose from their approved vendors rather than bringing in your own, unless you hire your planner first.
These are a just few great venue options in Raleigh, but finding the best fit for you might be more overwhelming than you expect. If you plan on hiring a wedding planner, we recommend hiring them BEFORE your venue. We’ve had some clients totally pivot the location of their wedding after gaining the insider knowledge we have to provide for the impacts a venue can have on your planning, design, and budget.

Hey there! I’m Haines, the owner and lead planner behind Significant Events. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Raleigh, we’ve got you. With over 10 years of experience in the events industry, I take a unique approach to creating a streamlined experience for my clients. With an eye for creativity and a background in Industrial Engineer, our team brings the perfect balance of design and logistics to your wedding day.
I love the weddings and events industry so much that I left my reliable corporate job in favor of long weekends filled with 24,000 steps and collaborating with vendors on unique designs that tell my clients’ stories.
When I’m not behind my laptop dreaming up my client’s next wedding design, you may find me on a yoga mat, or hanging out with my besties at our favorite local coffee shop. When the husband gets home from work, we are usually spending time with our beautiful daughter, and loving on our pets (2 kitties and a beautiful long haired German Shepherd!) If it’s time to get out of the house, we’re calling the babysitter to head to the movies
Looking for a wedding planning experience that feels like a breath of fresh air and totally you? We’d love to meet you!
